Mine Surveyor
The Mine Surveyor course is designed to meet the competency requirements set by WorkSafe New Zealand under the Health and Safety at Work (Mining Operations and Quarrying Operations) Regulations 2016.
The programme prepares students to fulfil the statutory responsibilities of a mine surveyor, including the accurate surveying and mapping of all mine workings, maintaining up-to-date mine plans, and ensuring compliance with legal safety standards. Training covers:

Production and certification of statutory mine plans

Underground and surface surveying techniques

Monitoring ground movement and subsidence

Use of modern survey technologies

Understanding mining legislation and regulatory reporting obligations
The course provides both theoretical knowledge and practical experience required to support an application for a Certificate of Competence (CoC) through WorkSafe’s Board of Examiners.
