The trainees will undergo formal in-class training in association with unit standard 23637 before being assessed. This will be followed by the practical aspects of operating a Telescopic handler. The trainee will be able to demonstrate the appropriate responsibilities of a telehandler operator with an emphasis on accident prevention and operator responsibility.

Unit 33425, Operate a telehandler above 12 metres in size with

Unit 33426, Operate a rotating telehandler.
This unit standard is an introductory standard and is recommended to be completed prior to unit standards 33425 and 33426.

Telehandler Refresher Training
The criteria for the telehandler refresher course remain the same as previously; the learner must already hold the Unit Standards they are refreshing.
Refresher training is not a legal requirement; however, it is strongly recommended to ensure compliance with the Health & Safety Legislation and its industry "good practice" guidelines.
It is generally seen as good work practice that trainees refresh these unit standards every 3 years. The duration of this course is 4 hours and will cover the unit Standards and a practical exercise to reinforce the trainee's knowledge of operating a Telehandler correctly.
