Course overview:
The purpose of this unit standard is to equip learners with the skills and knowledge to develop a comprehensive Workplace Emergency Management Plan (WEMP). It’s targeted at people who are involved in emergency planning at an organisational level, such as health & safety managers, fire-safety officers, or emergency response coordinators.
Also, completion of this standard can contribute toward certificate of competence (for example, for a Site Senior Executive) under WorkSafe requirements.
Key Learning Objectives:

Develop the purpose, strategies, and goals for organisational workplace emergency
management planning. - Establish workplace emergency management planning focus group(s) and enlist specialist
advice. - Establish critical success factors and identify risks in workplace emergency management
planning. - Write a Workplace Emergency Management Plan.
- Present the Workplace Emergency Management Plan for organisational approval and manage its integration with policy and planning.
